Launching SlingPlayer (Kindle Fire Edition): The basics

Here's how to get started watching.

Launching SlingPlayer (Kindle Fire Edition)

  • Tap the SlingPlayer icon to launch it.

If you haven't logged in to your Sling Account

  • You're prompted to log in. It makes using SlingPlayer much easier.

If you have logged into your Sling Account

  • SlingPlayer connects to the last Slingbox used automatically (if Auto Connect is enabled in Settings).

    Tap Cancel if you'd like to connect to a Slingbox other than the last one.

  • If Auto Connect is not enabled in Settings, click Directory to select from a list of available Slingbox devices.

To connect

  • Select a Slingbox from the Directory. SlingPlayer locates the Slingbox and connects to it.

To disconnect

  • Tap the Back button on your Kindle Fire until you reach the "Disconnected" screen:

    If you are on the "Disconnected" screen, tapping Back exits the application to the Kindle Fire Home screen.

  • You may also disconnect by tapping the Home button on your Kindle Fire, but note that SlingPlayer (Kindle Fire Edition) cannot stream in the background. Tapping the Home button leaves the application process open, but the stream disconnects.
