My SlingPlayer Guide is off by a few hours
SlingPlayer gets the current time from the computer it's currently running on. It uses that time to figure out what programs to show you in the SlingPlayer Guide.
However, if your Slingbox is hooked up to a TV in another time zone, there will be a difference between what the SlingPlayer Guide tells you what's on TV, and what is actually on.
So, if you and your computer are in New York, and you're accessing a Slingbox in San Francisco, SlingPlayer (and the SlingPlayer Guide) will be three hours ahead of the programming in San Francisco. That means you'll need to wait another three hours to see your programs.
But that would still be better than the other way around: if you and your computer are in San Francisco, accessing a Slingbox in New York, then your TV programs will have aired three hours ago!
To work around this issue, temporarily change your computer's time zone to match that of the Slingbox you're accessing. The SlingPlayer Guide will then display the correct programming, and you'll be all set Slingbox-wise.
