Control mode
SlingPlayer is equipped with a feature called the Control Mode, which you can use to switch between channels faster.
With Control Mode, priority is given to SlingRemote, so buttons that you push respond more quickly. The tradeoff is that audio and video quality can decrease, but once you're done with Control Mode, you can turn it off and restore audio and video quality to their previous levels.
Control Mode is most useful when you need to do a number of button clicks at one time, such as when you're programming your DVR. It's also useful when you need quick response to remote control button clicks, such as when you're locating a specific scene with your DVR, DVD player, or VCR.
Control Mode can be set to Automatic or Manual:
Automatic (default): When you select any SlingRemote button, SlingPlayer automatically toggles into Control Mode to give you fast response. It toggles back out of Control Mode when you’re done using SlingRemote. This is best for most purposes.
Manual: Choose Settings > Player > Control Mode to put SlingPlayer in Control Mode. You can deactivate it the same way (it acts like a toggle).
The keyboard equivalent for Control Mode is Alt+T.
