Locating your Slingbox ID

The Slingbox ID is a unique number given to each Slingbox. SlingPlayer uses it to locate your Slingbox from the Internet when you're watching your TV away from home. If you need your Slingbox ID for any reason, here's how to find it.

To locate your Slingbox ID:

Launch SlingPlayer while you're at home, on your home network.
Connect to the Slingbox that you want to info about.
Get details about the Slingbox that you're connected to:

Watch on Slingbox.com: Click Options.
SlingPlayer 2.0 for Windows (desktop): Choose About [Slingbox name] from the Help menu.
SlingPlayer for Mac OS (desktop): Choose Get Info from the Slingbox menu.

The screen (or box) that opens displays the Slingbox ID.
Desktop versions only: You can also click the Information tab. Your Slingbox ID is in the first field, ID.
You can write the Slingbox ID down, or you can copy/paste it into a document. With the desktop versions of SlingPlayer, click the Slingbox ID so it re-displays toward the bottom of the box. Then select and copy it.
