Note: You can't use the Mac OS version of Watch on Slingbox.com for Slingbox configuration changes (such as changing the name or password).
IMPORTANT: Select unique passwords (both the administrator password, and if used, the view-only password) for your Slingbox. This reduces the chances of someone else using your Slingbox without your permission.
How do I create an effective password?
A good way to create a solid password is to use the first letters of the words in a phrase you like, or the first letters of a song lyric. To make these passwords harder to guess, add some numbers in the middle of them. For example, substitute the number "1" for the letter "I," or the number "3" for the letter "E." Just don't forget that you did this!
Here are a few tips for creating and safeguarding your password:
- Change your passwords periodically.
- Don't share your passwords with others.
- Avoid words in the dictionary, first names, birthdays, pet's names and so on.
- Use a good mix of upper case and lower case letters and numbers.
