How To

Configuring Safari in Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) to work with Slingbox.com

Safari needs to be set to 32-bit mode to use Watch on Slingbox.com (or Setup on Slingbox.com) on a Mac running Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard). Here's how to do it.

To set Apple Safari to run in 32-bit mode in Snow Leopard:
  1. Print these instructions or read through them completely before starting.
  2. Quit Safari.
  3. Go into your Mac's Applications folder and find the Safari application.
  4. Click once to select the Safari icon, then press Command-i to Get Info.
The Get Info window for Safari opens.

  5. In the Safari Get Info window, you see an option to Open in 32-bit mode. Click this checkbox.
  6. Close the Safari Get Info window.
  7. Launch Safari and reload Slingbox.com.
  8. Click on the Watch tab and follow the instructions to finish setting up SlingPlayer.

Although it is unlikely, making this change may cause some other plug-ins to stop working.

If you do not want to make this change to Safari, you can use Mozilla Firefox browser version 3 or later.
