If you are outside your free support period for your Sling Media product and would like to get some help from our support team, we have a few paid options available.
Paid Sling Media product support provides telephone support for installation, launch, or re-installation (not including data recovery) when your hardware and network configuration meets the minimum system requirements for the software.
- How much is paid support for my Sling Media product?
During the first 90 days of product ownership, support is free. After that, you will have to either pay for a single support incident or buy an extended care agreement (available in the US only).

- What if all I need is to buy a replacement part?

Sling Media Extended Care (US only)
Sling Media Extended Care extends the free support period and hardware warranty of every Sling Media product sold in the US to three years from the original purchase date.
If you have a Sling Media Extended Care agreement, you can call or chat our support team as often as you like and get your questions answered. And if you need a hardware repair during that period, we will even expedite the shipping of your replacement Slingbox for free.

- Who is eligible to purchase Sling Media Extended Care?
Customers who are within the United States and own a Slingbox that was purchased from an authorized reseller within the last year can purchase an extended care agreement. Just give us a call.

Pay Per Incident Support
Another option for getting help outside the standard complimentary support period is to pay for a single incident, called Pay Per Incident (or PPI). You may want to do this if:
- Your Sling Media product is older than one year and not eligible for a Sling Media Extended Care Agreement.
- You are not eligible to buy a Sling Media Extended Care agreement because you live outside the US.
Frequently Asked Questions about Pay Per Incident support
- What is Pay Per Incident support?
The Pay Per Incident (or PPI) covers your access to the Sling Media support team member about one specific support incident. Once the incident is resolved, the case is closed and you would need to purchase another PPI to talk to us again.
- What if my issue turns out to be a hardware issue and can't be fixed with normal troubleshooting?
The PPI agreement does not provide out of warranty hardware repair should the issue ultimately be caused by a defective Slingbox or SlingCatcher.
If you are within your standard hardware warranty
Once Sling Media Technical Support determines that the issue is a hardware issue, your PPI will be refunded at the same time as your in-warranty repair is processed.
If you are outside your standard hardware warranty
Once Sling Media Technical Support determines that the issue is a hardware issue and if you decide to pay for an out of warranty repair, the cost of the PPI will be subtracted from that purchase.
- What is a “support incident?”
A support incident is a specific, discrete issue that can be addressed by isolating its origin to a single cause. Sling Media, in its sole discretion, will determine what constitutes a support incident. A support incident has reached resolution when the customer receives one of the following:
- Information that resolves the issue
- Information on how to obtain a software solution that will resolve the issue
- Notice that the issue is caused by a known, unresolved issue or an incompatibility issue with the supported product
- Information that identifies the issue as being resolved by upgrading to a newer release of the supported product
- Notice that the issue has been identified as a hardware equipment issue
- Information that isolates issue to a third-party product, not supported by Sling Media
