Sling Media Complimentary Support Offerings

Complimentary support for the Slingbox and SlingCatcher hardware provides telephone support for basic setup, installation, assembly, and connectivity. See the user guide included with your Slingbox or SlingCatcher for more information.

What is complimentary support?

Complimentary support for Sling Media products provides telephone and chat support for basic setup, installation, assembly, and connectivity.


How much complimentary technical support do I get?

Sling Media will provide complimentary support for initial installation and setup of your Sling Media product within the first 90 days of product ownership. This is included with any Sling Media hardware or software product purchase.

If the software you contact us about was free, it would not be covered under the complimentary support umbrella. However, if the associated Sling Media hardware was still under its complementary support period, we would help you as best we could.


How long is the hardware warranty for Sling Media hardware?

All Sling Media hardware products come with a 1 year hardware warranty (US) or 2 year hardware warranty (Europe).

If you contact technical support outside of your complimentary support period but within your hardware warranty, you will need to pay for a single support incident or an extended care agreement (where available) in order to get help from our support experts.

However, if we determine that the issue is a problem that is covered under your hardware warranty, we will process a full refund of the support incident purchase price at the same time we set up the hardware service.

How do I contact Sling Media to get help?

Most pages on the Slingbox support site have a small box on the right side titled "Get More Help". Inside that box is a Contact Technical Support link that will take you to a page which provides all the contact information you need for your region.

Note: You will need to log in to the support site in order to see the Sling Media support contact information for your region.


If I am outside of complimentary support, what are my options?

If you are outside your complimentary support period and need help, almost everything you would need to resolve most situations yourself is available for free on the Sling Media Support web site.

We also have a free technical support community where you can ask questions and get help from other Slingbox users. Just click on the Forums link at the top of this page.
