I’m on O2 in the UK and can't connect to my Slingbox using my mobile phone
If your BlackBerry is on O2, you might not be able to connect to your Slingbox.
In the United Kingdom, O2 (www.o2.co.uk) is a major mobile phone network carrier. O2 has specific network limitations for those accessing a Slingbox with a mobile phone connection. This is true both for existing O2 customers and for those who are roaming and using O2’s network.
What happens?
If you use your BlackBerry with the O2 mobile service to connect to a Slingbox that's outside of the UK, instead of connecting you see:
SlingPlayer disconnected. Please try again. (No action timeout)
Is there any solution?
Yes. Can your handset connect to the Internet via Wi-Fi? If so, then use Wi-Fi to connect to your Slingbox with SlingPlayer for BlackBerry.
O2 and British Telecom have partnered to provide more than 10,000 Wi-Fi network hotspots in various locations throughout the UK. The charge, if any, depends on the subscription service that you've chosen. Contact O2 for clarification at www.o2.co.uk.
