Some Internet security and personal firewall software may interfere with your Slingbox setup or SlingPlayer
When setting up your Slingbox via Slingbox.com, your computer may have difficulty locating your Slingbox due to the potential impact of 3rd-party Internet security, firewall software, or browser plug-ins.
3rd Party Internet security and firewall software products, such as those made by Norton, McAfee, Kaspersky Anti-Virus or ZoneAlarm, are designed to keep your home network safe from viruses or damaging attacks. As a side effect, some Internet security software might designate the Slingbox as a 'hostile' device on your network. They may also block SlingPlayer or Setup on Slingbox.com.
If this is occurring, you may be seeing "Your Slingbox can't be located." messages (see below for example) when you try to use Slingbox.com!

If you are running these software programs, consult the user manual or the company's web site to find out how you can designate the Slingbox, or Slingbox.com as safe or trusted.
The goal is to have your Slingbox working normally, while your firewall software software still blocks out unwanted activity.
During your setup, if you see a warning similar to the screenshot above, you should grant or permit access for SlingPlayer and your Slingbox to work properly.
Configure it so that your Slingbox and Slingbox.com can work, while the firewall software still blocks out activity that you don't want. You may need to take a look at the documentation that came with your software, or visit the web site of the developer/manufacturer.
