SlingPlayer 2.0 tells me there is a Slingbox Software Update available every time I connect to my Slingbox
If every time you connect to your Slingbox in SlingPlayer 2.0 for Windows you are prompted to download an update, you may have an incomplete download stuck in the SlingPlayer download queue.
When you are in this situation, clicking on the "Update" button gets rid of the message but the Slingbox Software Update never downloads completely and the update never happens.
Here are the steps to fix the problem:
- Launch SlingPlayer 2.0.
- While you have the main SlingPlayer window open, type ALT, SHIFT, and then S.
- The Sling Agent window will open.
- Click on the Remove Failed Tasks button and then the Clear All button.
- Click the Close button to close the Sling Agent window.
Quit and then restart SlingPlayer
You'll be prompted to download the latest Slingbox Software again. Try downloading it again. This time, however, the download will complete and you will be able to update the Slingbox Software on your Slingbox.
