Adding an Internet Slingbox to your Slingbox Directory
Before you can add a Slingbox to your Slingbox Directory, you must sign into your Sling Account ... and then add the new Slingbox to your Slingbox Directory. But even when you're located remotely, you can add a Slingbox to your Slingbox Directory.
Adding another audio/video source
If there are available input ports on the back of your Slingbox, you can connect additional audio/video sources. SlingPlayer gives you the option of switching between input sources while you're watching your TV.
Adding a Slingbox using a domain name/router IP address
If you’re an advanced user, and you want to add a Slingbox to your Slingbox Directory -- but you don't have the Slingbox ID -- you can add a Slingbox to the Slingbox Directory by using the the IP address of your router (or your domain name).

Canadian Slingbox users and the SlingPlayer Guide
Version 2.0.1 of SlingPlayer for Windows introduces a new feature to Canadian users: the Slingbox Guide, an electronic program guide that tells you at a glance what's on, lets you change channels directly by double-clicking your choice in the guide, and offers a Favorites feature, so you can store the channels you watch the most.
Changing Aspect Ratio (Video Zoom)
Broadcast video can be shown in differing screen formats, among them: standard television aspect ratio (4:3), Letterbox, Pillarbox, Windowbox, and Anamorphic. SlingPlayer can be adjusted to handle these various formats.
Controlling your Slingbox
When you're watching TV and you tap the display, you get the controls for your A/V device ... very similar to its actual remote control.

C Spire Streaming Issue
If you are using an iPhone 4S from the C Spire mobile provider, you may be unable to stream video for more than 30 minutes.
Editing a Favorites list
You can edit an existing Favorites list to add channels, delete them, or rename the Favorites list.
Entering Slingbox ID numbers with BlackBerry Pearl
You can use SlingPlayer Mobile for BlackBerry to add new Slingbox entries to the Slingbox Directory. However, if you're using a BlackBerry Pearl, you'll find that you can't enter your Slingbox ID because you can't get the letter "F" to enter. The Pearl's keyboard configuration prevents it.

The Slingbox ID is a unique number given to each Slingbox. SlingPlayer uses it to locate your Slingbox from the Internet when you're watching your TV away from home. If you need your Slingbox ID for any reason, here's how to find it.
No on-screen menus when connected to Motorola set-top boxes
With certain Motorola set-top boxes, especially the Motorola DCT series, you may not see any on-screen graphics (channel numbers, program guide, DVR menus, etc.) when your Slingbox is connected to the set-top box's composite or S-video inputs.

Parking SlingPlayer windows

Set-top box gets "stuck" on an unsubscribed channel
If you're using a device (such as a TiVo) to control a set-top box, like a DISH box, sometimes the set-top box gets "stuck" on a channel that you don't subscribe to. Here's an arrangement you can use to get un-stuck when you're away from home.

Watching HD-only content with your Slingbox SOLO, PRO, or PRO-HD
You can watch your HD-only content anywhere with a Slingbox SOLO, or a Slingbox PRO with the Sling Media HD Connect product. Just be aware that SOLO and PRO models stream via a high-quality standard-definition stream, not in a high-definition stream. The Slingbox PRO-HD can stream in high-definition on your home network and in high-quality over the Internet.
