  • SlingCatcher supports most video and audio file formats, including the following:
    · Video: WMV, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, H.264, Xvid.
    · Audio: MP2, MP3, WMA, AAC, AC3. PCM.
    · File formats: .avi, .vob, .ifo, ps., .ts, .mpg, .wmv, .asf, .mov, .mp4, .m4v, .mp3, .wma, .mp4a, .m4a, .wav

  • How do I enjoy all my favorite audio and video files on my TV using SlingCatcher?
  • You can copy video and audio files directly from your PC to a USB drive, then plug the drive into SlingCatcher. SlingCatcher lets you easily navigate the content on the USB drive and play the files on your TV.
  • I see USB ports on the back of SlingCatcher. What USB devices are compatible with it?
  • USB 2.0 mass storage devices (such as flash sticks or hard disk drives) formatted with the FAT32 file system.
  • How do I format my drive with FAT32?
  • If your drive is not formatted with the FAT32 filesystem, we recommend downloading and using the “FAT 32 Formatter” utility. It can be found here:

  • SlingCatcher says that my hard drive is "Unsupported." What does this mean?
  • You get this error if the drive is not formatted using the FAT32 file system. For help with this, see this article:

  • Some of my favorite video files are in high definition. Will the SlingCatcher play them?
  • Yes. You will need to be sure that they are encoded in a supported format. SlingCatcher will play back MPEG-2 files at up to 1920x1080 and Windows Media files at up to 1280x720. SlingCatcher does not support playback of other formats at high definition. Please see the file playback and conversion FAQ for more information.

  • Can the SlingCatcher USB port read files on third-party hardware, like the Sony Walkman MP3 player, Microsoft Zune player, Apple iPod, Zen player, or the Rio?
  • No.
